Women's History Month Interview with Susie Garber-Johnson

March 17, 2026

To celebrate Women's History Month, we took the time to speak with the women of Legacy Ridge Private Wealth to for their insight! We discussed the women who have influenced them, how they found their way in the financial industry, and any advice they want to give the next generation of working women in finance.

Susie Garber-Johnson, Partner and Wealth Advisor of Legacy Ridge Private Wealth, has graciously offered her thoughts on these Women’s History Month questions. Check out her answers below:

Q: What does Women’s History Month mean to you personally?

SGJ:  Women’s History month is a time to celebrate and honor all the women who have impacted our lives through their courage and perseverance.  The efforts and sacrifices that so many women have made are why women today have the rights and privileges we enjoy.

Q: What women—past or present—have influenced you the most and why?

SGJ: Of course, the long line of women in my family have influenced my life in so many ways.  Other women who I deeply admire are:  Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bador Ginsburg, former United States Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice.

Q: What inspired you to pursue your current career path?

SGJ : From a young age, I’ve always dreamed of having my own business.  I have always been interested in finance and marrying the two together is very fulfilling.  Helping others navigate the financial complexities is my passion and I’m blessed to be able to do so.

Q: What’s a piece of advice you would give to women just starting out in their careers?

SGJ: The advice I would give to other women who want to pursue a career in the financial services industry would be to follow your intuition, be true to yourself and never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.  Define what you want our life/career to look like and stay focused.  There will be many speed bumps and barriers, persistence is key.

Who is a woman in your life you’d like to honor this month?

SGJ : I’d like to honor my best friend and mentor, Dixie Daley Johnson.  She has provided me with sound advice, support and friendship and without her I would not be where I am today in my life and career.
